Accidental Epicurean is a blog focused on food, wine, exploring places and the good life (mostly in Asia).
Accidental Epicurean wanted to give their site a new fresh look, structured to have more clickable content that would encourage visitors to interact with and stay on the site. The client also wanted visitors to clearly see that content could be explored by location.
NEW NAVIGATION BY LOCATION
The focal point of the main page is a slideshow that scrolls automatically to reveal each country location. Each slide links to the corresponding page containing all posts related to that location:

DESIGN
The design process also included the creation of a new Accidental Epicurean logo and header:

INTERACT
To encourage visitor interaction with Accidental Epicurean content, different ways to access site content were grouped together:

The client also wanted visitors be able to subscribe to and receive site posts in their inbox weekly. QPSoftware set up a Mailchimp system that uses the RSS feed to automatically send out weekly updates to visitors who subscribe on the site using the box above.
Accidental Epicurean is powered by Wordpress. Custom options and templates were created so that the site owner could easily modify the custom content created by QPSoftware.
